Kids love the water slides, diving boards and “lazy rivers” found at Chandler’s six different aquatic centers. Recently, one of Arizona’s most popular Wild West attractions, Rawhide Western Town and Steakhouse relocated from Scottsdale to Wild Horse Pass in Chandler. Although served by five different school districts – Kyrene Elementary School District, Tempe Union High School District, Mesa Public Schools, Gilbert Public Schools, and Chandler Unified School District – the majority of students living in Chandler attend Chandler Unified School District (CUSD). CUSD oversees fifteen elementary schools, five junior high schools, five high schools as well as college prep schools, traditional schools and community education programs. After graduating from high school, students can choose from broad spectrum of secondary institutions located minutes from the Chandler community. These include the Chandler-Gilbert Community College, Arizona State University in Tempe, and the Phoenix School of Law to name just a few. In 2010, Chandler University, an online college specializing in construction management and business, opened in the Chandler Community. Since the Phoenix metropolitan area offers an enviable number of excellent medical centers, including the Mayo Clinic and St. Luke’s Medical Center, Chandler residents have no trouble finding physicians and specialists perfectly suited to their needs.
